Bilingual Class Program

KINDERGARTEN – PRIMARY – JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

In a rapidly changing and increasingly interconnected world, education must go beyond academic achievement. At Tarsisius 2 School, we continuously innovate to provide a learning environment that equips students with the knowledge, skills, confidence, and adaptability they need to embrace future challenges and opportunities.

Our Bilingual School Program is designed as a pathway toward Global Readiness. More than simply learning English as a subject, students are immersed in an English-rich learning environment where they are encouraged to communicate, express their ideas, collaborate, and build confidence in using English naturally in their daily learning experiences

Our Bilingual Kindergarten Program provides children with a joyful and English-rich learning environment from an early age. English is introduced naturally through play, songs, stories, games, classroom routines, creative activities, and daily interactions.

Rather than focusing on memorization, children are encouraged to listen, understand, respond, and gradually communicate in simple English. At the same time, they develop essential early skills in literacy, numeracy, social-emotional development, creativity, and exploration.

The Bilingual Program at the Primary School level is firmly grounded in the National Curriculum, ensuring students build strong academic foundations aligned with Indonesian education standards.

To enrich this foundation, we integrate internationally recognized approaches in key learning areas:

  1. English adopts the Cambridge English Curriculum, providing an internationally benchmarked framework for developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
  2. Mathematics and Science adopt the Singapore Curriculum Approach, which is widely recognized for its strong emphasis on conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, problem-solving, and application of knowledge in real-life contexts.

At this stage, the program adopts a fully Cambridge-based curriculum framework for the following subjects:

English → Cambridge Lower Secondary English as a Second Language
Mathematics → Cambridge Lower Secondary Mathematics
Science → Cambridge Lower Secondary Science

This means that learning objectives, content standards, assessment models, and skill development are fully aligned with the Cambridge international framework.

Our Bilingual Program provides students with a structured English development pathway throughout their primary education.

In Grade 4, students will take the Cambridge Young Learners Placement Test to identify and measure their individual English proficiency.

In Grade 6, students will take the Cambridge English Qualification for Young Learners: A2 Flyers as an international benchmark of their English achievement. Students will receive a Cambridge certificate and Statement of Results, providing a clear overview of their performance, strengths, and areas for further development.

Building on the structured pathway from Primary School, the Junior High Program provides a clear and continuous international assessment journey.

As part of our commitment as a British Council School Partner, students follow a defined academic benchmarking system.

In Grade 7–8, students are progressively prepared through Cambridge Lower Secondary learning objectives and internal academic assessments aligned with Cambridge standards.

In Grade 8, students will take the Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint Examination as a mandatory school-wide assessment program. The results are used to evaluate student readiness for higher academic levels and to ensure alignment with international learning standards.

By the end of primary school, our target is for students to reach CEFR A2 – Basic User level in English, while developing the confidence to use English in everyday communication and learning contexts.

At the end of the Junior High Program, our clear English development target is for students to achieve CEFR B2 – Independent User as a direct preparation stage for Upper Secondary education, particularly for students who will continue into Cambridge IGCSE Programme.
